Metropolitan Police wants to build a YouTube for camera phone evidence

Metropolitan Police officials plan to build a system that can be used to gather and catalogue video evidence that members of the public have captured on their mobile phones.


The project, which is inspired by "user-generated content" archives used by news outlets, follows after the riots in London last August, where smartphone footage was used alongside CCTV in follow-up court cases.
