Raytheon's Exoatmospheric Kill Vehicles upgraded with colour sensors

Raytheon has inked a $636 million (£400m) contract to provide Exoatmospheric Kill Vehicles to Boeing.


EKVs are high-speed projectiles that can obliterate incoming warheads and missiles by slamming straight into them -- at breakneck speeds of 10 km/s. Raytheon describes the concept as "hit to kill."
