Amazon AppStream 2.0 APIs can now programmatically manage your image builders.

Amazon AppStream 2.0 APIs now support programmatic access to image builder actions. The image builder APIs enable you to create, delete, start, and stop image builders, and generate URLs for AppStream 2.0 administrators to log in and install their apps. Now, AppStream 2.0 administrators can build or use existing workflow automation solutions to simplify application onboarding.

AWS Glue now supports Filter and Map as part of the built-in transforms it provides for your extract, transform, and load (ETL) jobs. You can use the Filter transform to remove rows that do not meet a specified condition and quickly refine your dataset. You can combine multiple fields in a dataset into a single field using the Map transform. You can also use the Map transform to do a lookup. AD Connector, part of AWS Directory Service, is now available in the EU (Frankfurt) and South America (São Paulo) Regions

AD Connector enables you to use your existing on-premises Microsoft Active Directory (AD) identities to access the AWS Management Console and compatible AWS applications, such as Amazon WorkSpaces, Amazon Connect, and Amazon Chime. With AD Connector, you can enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) for AWS applications users and use your existing RADIUS-based infrastructure for an additional layer of security. You also can join Amazon EC2 Windows instances to your on-premises AD domain and manage the instances using group policy objects.

Amazon CloudFront now lets you select a security policy with minimum TLS v1.1, v1.2, and security ciphers for viewer connections!

Starting today, you can further improve security for your web applications on Amazon CloudFront by selecting a pre-defined security policy that enforces TLS version 1.1 or 1.2 as the minimum protocol version. Amazon CloudFront will automatically select the cipher suite for your selected security policy which it will use to encrypt your content before returning it to viewers over HTTPS. For instance, with this feature, you can select the security policy that enforces TLS version 1.1 and weak ciphers such as RC4 and 3DES will automatically be excluded. This feature is available when you use custom SSL certificates to serve HTTPS requests using SNI.

AWS CloudTrail Adds S3 Data Events in AWS GovCloud (US) Region

AWS CloudTrail S3 Data Events allow you to record API actions on Amazon S3 objects and receive detailed information such as the AWS account, IAM user role, and IP address of the caller, time of the API call, and other details. You can programmatically access and act upon the Data Events after they are delivered to an Amazon S3 bucket or to Amazon CloudWatch Events. For example, you can quickly reapply the original Access Control List (ACL) on an object if the ACL of an object is modified.
