European Commission targets 85 percent e-waste collection by 2018

The European Commission has announced that new rules on the collection and treatment of electronic waste will enter into force.


The idea is to collect more "waste electrical and electronic equipment" (Weee), to protect the environment from harmful waste and get back the rare metals that are used in modern day devices.
