Nasa picks Ball Aerospace to find and fly eco-friendly rocket fuel

Nasa has picked a Colorado-based company to find and demonstrate an environmentally friendly rocket fuel, as an alternative to the highly toxic hydrazine.


Hydrazine is an efficient propellant that can be stored for long periods of time, and is used in many rockets, satellites and spacecraft. It's also highly corrosive and toxic, and can be extremely harmful to the environment.
