Musician Neil Young has waged a battle against the audio quality of MP3s for years, but now he's bringing out the big guns -- a music service for audiophiles.
Young showed off a prototype of the hardware side of the service, named Pono, in an interview with David Letterman. It's bright yellow, shaped like a prism, and comes with remarkably simple-looking controls. It'll play traditional MP3s if you want it to, but it'll also be able to play back high-quality 192kHz / 24-bit recordings.
