At a press conference in Japan, Sony has announced a redesigned PlayStation 3, which includes larger hard drives and a new flash-based model for the UK.
The new model is 25 percent smaller than the previous design, and 50 percent smaller than the original model released seven years ago. It resembles the previous model in its general curved aesthetic, but now features a sliding disc cover on the top of the console instead of a slot-loading mechanism.
