Stanford University's Class2Go initiative takes on iTunes U

Education today sits in a strange place. While on one hand trends in areas like tuition fees are raising the barriers, technology is enabling a new range of services that free knowledge from the clutches of traditional institutions.


However, Stanford University is one of a number of institutions around the world that has been playing an active role in this progress. Previously offering full course materials and lecture recordings online and then through services like iTunes U, this week it announced a new tool by the name of Class2Go that hopes to give it more control over the infrastructure through which such content is delivered.
