UK's first 4G network, EE, launches today

4G

The UK gets a new mobile network this morning, EE, and with it the country gets access to 4G LTE services for the first time.


EE, which is operated by the parent company of Orange and T-Mobile, has gone live in 11 UK cities, including London, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and Sheffield.


4G is the successor to 3G, and according to EE will offer speeds up to five times faster than 3G on its network.
