Romain Grosjean is set to drop five places on the grid for Sunday's 2012 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix after Lotus opted to change the gearbox on his car at Austin. Gearboxes are required to last five consecutive Grands Prix. Grosjean, currently ninth in the drivers' championship on 90 points, finished final practice down in 17th on Saturday morning after missing the later stages of the session due to gearbox problems.
