Armchair astronomers can now scan outer space for warps in space-time simply by looking at pictures on the Spacewarps website.
The project is searching for gravitational lenses which occur when massive galaxies distort space-time. These massive galaxies are sometimes referred to as cosmic telescopes because the distortions bend light rays revealing galaxies which would normally be hidden behind them.
