AWS CloudFormation enables parameter-only stack updates and stack notification topic changes

You can now update an AWS CloudFormation stack with only parameters. Previously, you needed to submit a new template even when you wanted to update only the parameters. We now provide you an option to update a stack by passing in only parameters and having CloudFormation automatically re-use the current stack template.

AWS CloudFormation is introducing the ability to add or remove Amazon SNS topics for monitoring stack creations and updates. You could previously specify the SNS topics when creating a stack but could not change it afterwards.

AWS CloudFormation simplifies resource provisioning and management for a wide range of AWS services. The CloudFormation service quickly and reliably provisions application architectures (or ‘stacks’) that you model in the CloudFormation template files. You can also easily update or replicate the stacks as needed.
