CloudFormation supports VPC peering, EBS encryption, additional CloudFront configuration and more

AWS CloudFormation now supports VPC peering, EBS encryption, additional CloudFront configuration and more. You can now use CloudFormation to configure these AWS features:

  • VPC peering

  • EBS encryption and the new General Purpose (SSD) volume type

  • CloudFront configuration for uploading content, specifying viewer certificate for HTTPS, and more

  • EC2 instance initiated shutdown behavior

  • Auto Scaling placement group configuration

  • Provisioning CloudTrail Trails for logging AWS API calls

AWS CloudFormation simplifies resource provisioning and management for a wide range of AWS services. The CloudFormation service quickly and reliably provisions application architectures (or ‘stacks’) that you model in the CloudFormation template files. You can also easily update or replicate the stacks as needed.
