Introducing Multi-Factor Authentication for Amazon WorkSpaces

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) for Amazon WorkSpaces is now available. MFA can provide you with an additional layer of security during the authentication process. Users must validate their identify by providing something they know (e.g. password), as well as something they have (e.g. hardware or software generated one-time password (OTP)).

Amazon WorkSpaces is a fully managed desktop computing service in the cloud. It allows customers to easily provision cloud-based desktops that allow end-users to access the documents, applications and resources they need with the device of their choice, including laptops, iPad, Kindle Fire, or Android tablets.

Support for MFA means you can use your existing RADIUS-based authentication solution with Amazon WorkSpaces. MFA can help you prevent unauthorized users from gaining access to resources, while defending against common password attacks such as phishing and keystroke logging.
