APIs are now supported for the Simple AD and AD Connector directories in AWS Directory Service, enabling you to programmatically create and configure these directories via the AWS CLI and SDKs. API actions performed via the AWS SDK and CLI or the AWS Directory Service Console can be recorded via AWS CloudTrail, and permissions for performing these actions can be controlled via an AWS IAM policy. The APIs can be used in all AWS regions in which AWS Directory Service is available.
