AWS has expanded its HIPAA Compliance Program to include Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS). Amazon SQS is a fully managed message queuing service for reliably communicating between distributed software components and microservices – at any scale. If you have an executed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with AWS, you can now use Amazon SQS to build HIPAA-compliant applications and store and transmit messages between healthcare systems, including messages containing protected health information (PHI).
